Album of the Year: Aphrodite
The music album of the year for me was easy. It hit number on the UK charts, has spun off a world tour and has brought the clubs dancing. I’ve always been a dance music fan, and this artist is known for her dance music.
Kylie Minogue returned in July with her 11th studio album entitled Aphrodite. The initial single All The Lovers was an immediate success. It hit #1 on the US Billboard Dance charts and became an instant club classic. Its music video was euphoric and she a light on the future success of the album. Get Outta My Way followed and also hit #1 on the US Billboard Dance charts. And now we have amazing mixes of the 3rd single Better Than Today (which she premiered at her first ever US Tour in 2009) climbing up the charts.
This era as an American fan has been amazing for me. Kylie has been everywhere in the US, singing Get Outta My Way at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, America’s Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
If you haven’t picked up this amazing album, I really recommend that you do. Unlike so many albums, every song is worth a listen.
Other notable albums for 2010 include Robyn’s Body Talk and Joe McElderry’s debut album Wide Awake.
